Parent University: Coaching Your Child Through Big Emotions

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS PARENT UNIVERSITY IS RESCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 23 (from January 26)

Please join us virtually on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 7 pm for Parent University: Coaching Your Child Through Big Emotions. Children can have big emotions they don't know how to handle. In this Parent University session, parents and guardians will learn ways to coach their child through these feelings and help build their child's emotional competence. Rather than fixing problems for your child, learn how helping them identify and better understand their feelings will help lead them to finding their own solutions.

The session will include a presentation by Tracy Schwartz, District 204 SEL Coach, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dawn Forkner, District 204 SEL and Wellness Coordinator. Panelists include Casey Woodham, Social Worker, Neuqua Valley High School— Elizabeth Mancilla, SEL/Academic Coach, Granger Middle School— and Shelli Kelsey, SEL/Academic Coach, Fischer Middle School.
