Course Offerings

Consumer Economics

  • This course is designed to provide students with skills necessary to integrate economic concepts with the consumer skills that will be necessary and used in “real life” situations.  Instruction will center on the student’s role in the economy as a citizen, consumer and worker and will be delivered using a variety of activities and projects.  Topics include money management, housing, banking, credit cards and loans, consumer protection insurance, savings and investing and the free enterprise system. 

CWT (Cooperative Work Training)
  • The CWT class focuses on the skills secondary students will need to begin their journey into the world of work. The emphasis will be on recognizing personal strengths and interests in order to begin both early career preparations as well as obtain part-time employment during high school. Students will also be exposed to a wide variety of presentations from speakers from various career fields. Cooperative Work Training will provide students with basic work terminology and the practice needed to be successful in employment endeavors.
Business Applications 1
  • This is an advanced Micro-type Pro course that is independent and self-paced. It is the first in the Business Applications sequence. Students become proficient in: alphabetic keyboarding, numeric keyboarding, keypad keyboarding, and word processing.
Business Applications 2
  • This is an advanced survey of Microsoft Office that is independent and self-paced. It is the second in the Business Applications sequence. Students will become proficient in: Windows and Office basics, formatting and editing, desktop publishing, Excel basics, advanced worksheet operations, worksheet charts, and Power Point basics.
Business Applications 3
  • This is an advanced word processing course that is independent and self-paced. It is the third in the Business Applications sequence. Students will become proficient in: creating and editing a document moving and copying text, formatting, tables and mail merges, text boxes, and inserting graphics and word art.
